Ars Magistris – Special Roberta Serenari – Edition N° 20

Born in Bologna, lives and works in Sasso Marconi (BO)

She is self-taught, she started very young, with the encouragement of prof. Italo Cinti, she who approached oil painting, having as a teacher the “beautiful painting” of the great museums of the world.

With the teaching of prof. Cesare Pacitti you learn the engraving technique of etching, from which you draw the ability for the rigor of the “sign” and the value of the “shades” in the black and white of the countless etchings.

You continue, with passion and tenacity, your personal technical and expressive research of oil painting and the study of color, revisiting with a current taste veined with intense intimacy, the purest realistic-magic line of the Italian early twentieth century.

Crossing the dreamlike atmosphere of the metaphysical and surrealist season, her pictorial path is expressed in a very personal way while remaining closely linked to the world of fairy tales and childhood as well as that of dreams.

To paint is not to depict, but to penetrate.
Go to the heart of the secret.

Look, observe and enter:
to love in reality… to look for “other splendours”.

Something dark, distant and profound is granted,
the painting must be ready to accept the spell…
